Natter night 21st August 2017.

A bad start to the day when I dropped my phone into a bucket of soapy water and it stopped working.
New one on it's way, good to be insured.

The afternoon was a lot better though, so I started to wire my Hemlock.

I got on quite well, trimming as I went.

Back outside looking better.

I knew Ken M was coming so I asked Susan to bring her Taxus that we worked on last week so Ken could see it in the flesh. He was pleased to see it doing so well.

Ken also brought this Pyracantha for a trim.

Looking much neater now.

Bad start, good finish to the day.

Sunday--- Bonsai.

I thought today that the Procumbens Juniper that was planted into the bogwood landscape was ready for a bit of styling.

The bottom branch on the left side was far to high.

Lowered with the help of a guy wire, then the rest of the branches were replaced in position.

Bonsai in the dark.

Some photos of my trees in the darkness of the night.

Time to wire.

I had some spare time this morning, so I thought I would wire this Juniper that Dave and I started on Thursday.

Thursday after we finished.

Today after wiring and placement of branches.

Outside in daylight.

Still a long way to go, but enough for now.

August or Autumn?

Looks like the first sign of Autumn.

This Virginia creeper has turned a lovely colour.

Bonsai Thursday with Dave.

Today with Dave we worked on this Blauwes Juniper.

We worked creating some deadwood.
It will be wired and styled later.

We also did some more work on the deadwood on this Yew..

One to one with Susan.

On Monday afternoon I started a one to one workshop with Susan G on her Taxus she got off Ken M.

The tree in Susan's garden about six weeks ago, growing really well.

Monday lunch time when Susan arrived here. You can see the extra growth it has put on.

After a couple of hours work in the studio.

When we stopped about four o'clock. we are about half way there.

Tuesday lunch time we started again, at Susan,s this time.

Almost there, just the apex to do.

The final image for now.

After doing this tree Susan is getting quite good at putting wire on now. Practice makes perfect.

Natter night 14th August 2017.

Holliday season is with us, so not much going on tonight.

I did some more work on this Boulevard Cypress. Thinning out the foliage and cleaning the Shari and Jin, then a coat of lime sulpher.

Andy P brought his Siberian Elm to have some wire removed.

Shaping up nicely.

This morning in the studio.

I have been in the studio this morning cleaning some of my pots and noticed my stands were very dusty.

Once they were cleaned I thought why waste the oppertunity while they are clean, so I placed some trees on them.

Looking down.

Getting bored with the usual photos looking at my trees so here are some different views.

I don't know what people thought I was doing standing on the table taking photos.

A short video, my Bonsai today.

Another wet Saturday.

It is Saturday and once again it is raining, so what to do ?
Go in the garden and take some photos.

Shohin Itoigawa juniper.

Kokonoe White pine.

Bonsai Thursday with Dave.

Dave and I had a busy few hours today, in the sunshine as well.

Dave's first job today was this ex garden Maple, which has grown very well this season.

After a good cut back of the longer branches, he left one on the apex to grow to thicken and create a better taper with the trunk, where it had been chopped.

This Maple also had a little light pruning.

After pruning, sorry this photo is too bright, we are not used to the sunshine.

I meanwhile did some work on this Taxus.

After a thin out, I wired the whole tree.

I then placed the branches, mainly to allow light into the canopy to promote back budding. There are still to many branches on the tree but these can be removed when we see how the tree grows.

Fudge the cat seems to think I cannot see him hiding in between my trees.

Busy but very enjoyable.

Natter night 7th August 2017.

Another quiet night as regards trees to work on, but we had a good natter and put the world to rights.

One of my Boulevard Cypress, after a little work today.

Andy brought this Dwarf Azalea to show us it's second flush of flowers.

Margarey brought this Hawthorn for a little clip.

Now it needs to be wired.

My small Common Juniper was also cut back.

Not many nibbles left.
